man, i only have 2 posts in november. that's pretty sad. i suppose it means nothing that exciting is going on!!! i've been sticking to my schedule (re october 2 post) and have been making progress. it's strange in a way - each time i may some headway it's both exciting and extremely frustrating at the same time. i'm thrilled to see the new number, but after one day that number immediately becomes my new enemy and the thing i struggle against to get to the next new number. which makes for a pretty hostile relationship with the scale. i love it, and i hate it. and i'd much rather be where i am now than where i was 2 months ago, but it is so slow..... and i still have a long way to go. thank goodness for i-tunes and my replenishing supply of awesome music that keeps me going at the gym (as illustrated in today's avatar). : )

time is just flying by with busy-ness. i think these last 2 weeks at work have been the busiest i've seen since i got back from KC. In a way it's good though, i like it when the work day goes by quickly. although, with getting home later, there hasn't been much room for things outside of work..... except:

thanksgiving was good - nice and low key at the parent's house. i had all the types of things i wanted to eat, but just really watched the quantities. like, previously i would have had no qualms about eating 4 or 5 crescent rolls. yay for me though, i actually lost weight over thanksgiving. and kept it steady with mark and rachel's wedding was on saturday. i guess those were good challenges with all the holiday stuff coming up... also, had a nice dinner with a guy from brazil on monday. it was really great to just talk to someone with different perspectives and experiences. not that everyone from the midwest isn't super-exciting. : ) felt sort of sureal - when the conversation turned to the environment and global warming - to be talking about it with someone from the same country as the amazon, the "lungs of the planet," and realizing that other people have the same concerns. and ultimately, it is a global issue. it just made the world feel a tiny bit cozier, if only for a moment.
