saturday's dream

I was in woodfield mall with frannie and her mom. we wanted to go into some clothing stores but her mom kept complaining that she needed to go somewhere where she could buy something sweet to eat. so we thought – we can come back to these stores after that. but as we’re walking we pass a store with several tv screens in the window. Nothing big or fancy, just several smallish tv screens in front of a black backdrop. (it sorta seemed like the apple computer store) but it was what was on the screens – we were mesmerized. the one i was looking at was to the far left, and it was a small underwater camera that had been placed on the shell of a brachiopodish-type creature. and you could see all across the rocky, sandy sea floor. it was just slightly murky so the visibility into the water faded quickly. but i would shout out “look, frannie, stingrays!” and as i watched i could tell day was turning into night as the water got darker. frannie was watching a different screen, i don’t know what was on it. but like i said, we were mesmerized, and it seemed like this was a live tv stream. we were rooted there. sometime during when the water was dark i exclaimed “frannie, i just saw a whale’s tail moving away into the distance!” and then night turned back into day, and something strange happened in the scene on the screen. (ok, seriously, i dunno what’s wrong with me, I don’t mean to be rhyming this much) It was as if the tide had gone out, because there were only several feet of water above my friend the shell. And i could see up out of the water, and I wasn’t expecting what i saw. I saw stretching up to the sky three sides of an enormous, square, metal tank. and people walking around up on the top of it. there was water dripping off the sides, as if this was a gigantic tank they’d just drained. i was confused. ‘what is this? some kind of government controlled environment for research?’ i thought. ‘i don’t understand, what about the whale i saw go off into the distance? there’s no way it could have fit in here....’ and then.... i woke up.
