let's start with this.....

them's some big trees..... Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, California. My first trip to California that did NOT consist only of LAX. the redwoods were absolutely amazing. My favorite is definitely from the first picture - can you spot me? that is a 'fairy ring' or 'cathedral trees' where one tree dies and sprouts a ring of new trees around it. i could have spent hours climbing around in there. well, many many minutes at least.... this was on our industrious 8-ish mile hike just while we waiting for the campsite to be ready.....
