i have survived.....
my first, and hopefully ONLY..... root canal.
last summer, inconveniently while i was in Kansas City, i was having tooth pain that appeared to be related to my wisdom tooth on my upper left. that general area would begin to hurt, and then it would spread forward to the rest of the upper left teeth. I spent virtually everyday for 4 weeks with the constant urge to bash in my pearly whites with a sledge hammer. i finally had a break, came home, and had the wisdom tooth yanked. WHICH, i must say, i was quite sad about, since i still had them all!
that seemed to fix the problem, then around the beginning of the year i was having pain again. this time i thought, maybe it's sinus related? so i took allergy pills everyday, and it went away. until just a few short weeks ago - when one day i took at mirror and looked at the underside of my teeth ............................
there was what looked like a pie-slice (about 2/5 of my tooth) cut right out of my tooth - all the way below the gum!!! i can only THANK THE LORD that somehow my nerves had not been exposed, since there wasn't pain with the actual tooth. the pain was coming from stuff getting shoved up into the gum, and then getting infected. gross right? sorry.
hence, the root canal. an experience i definitely don't want to have again.....
