it's like the olympics, but with kicking stuff

It's too bad i haven't had more tv-watching-time lately, because i'm really enjoying the world cup games. it's not a sport i normally watch, but i find that, like the olympics, sports are always more exciting when it's a country vs country deal. it's nice to think that the world is in some way united, even if it's just to watch a soccer game. it's one of those warm fuzzy things. and it's kind of fun becuase you cheer for a different team each game. i cheered for spain in their game vs france the other night.... and right now i'm rooting for england to beat portugal in double overtime... we'll see what happens, but i wish i'd seen a bunch of the earlier games. it's just nice to have sports on- and something that's different than the normal baseball and football... : ) it's the kind of thing i like to have on, even if i'm not watching it.....

soccer is interesting to me, that so many people would watch 90 minutes or more of running back and forth with no scoring! but it is exciting!
