it was very grim
so on friday i finally saw "the brothers grimm," and i gotta say, i was disappointed. although i liked the last 20 minutes or so of the movie i thought most of it was hard to understand (the dialogue) and unorganized (like, why did we need to see them hanging somewhere about to be tortured like 8 times? i think we get the idea) i thought it would have been much cooler if there was tons less talking about random nothings and a lot more of the fairy-tale aspect. like explaining everything like, why did the queen have control over the trees and crows n such. i didn't catch exactly how the girls father came to be under the queen's spell. and if they used to go to the tower all the time when she was little, why did the queen wait so frickin long? not to mention there was no explanation for why when one girl was put into a crypt, glass slippers appearred on her feet. and WHAT UP? with the random gingerbread man thing? is it that the queen had power over the fairy tales? and don't even get me started on that whole plague bit. if the king was the first to die of the plague, there's no WAY the queen would have had time to build herself a fancy little tower.
all in all, cool effects, cool concept, but could have been so much more!
